Depending on God

On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

Have you taken the time to ask yourself where you are taking your dependence on?

It is so easy to be lost; to depend on other things aside from God. The enemy is shrewd, he knows how to twist things and set your heart to depend maybe on yourself when you are consumed by your works. Pride, greed, and/or self righteousness sets in. Sometimes, he tells us to put our trust on others or on things that make us forget about God. That is why it is important for us to know our identities in Christ alone, not on anything in this world.

Let us always remind ourselves to check our hearts if it is still centered on God alone. In the end, it will lead to frustration and disappointment if our dependence is not set on Him.

You are not of this world so nothing of this world will satisfy you. Satisfaction is found in Christ alone.
