1 Corinthians 12:21-23 ESV
The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty,
At some point in time or perhaps currently, you may think that your work is of less importance than others. You may have compared that others have better pay/rewards/salary than you. You may have thought that physical labor is less important than mental work.
Do not be envious of what others are receiving. What you do by serving the society should already fulfill you whatever task you are doing, knowing that you are serving God and your neighbor. You are already helping in civilization.
Try seeing the world in God's lenses/perspective. Every work done by each and everyone is contributing to the cultivation of God's creation. Work should not become or feel like a punishment and instead should be looked upon as a privilege.
For example we have agricultural work, if we don't have the necessary raw materials then we can't produce anything and ultimately life cannot be sustained. Today, we are already blessed to have many things we want ready in an instant.
Have you thought of how important it is to keep cleanliness in your surroundings? Even simple cleaning of our environment, if no one will do it then we will suffer and die from sickness.
Surely, there will be bumps and humps along the road in our journey and it will not be perfect. However, at the end of the day, aren't you thankful that you have a job? That God supplies you with the strength to work and carry on? Perhaps you may have missed out God, that He is out of the picture in your plans. Consider Him in everything, even the simplest tasks and I assure you, it will never be the same.
"Those who leave everything in God's hand, will eventually see God's hand in everything."
As appointed stewards of God's creation, we should do our best in our work knowing that we are serving God and not men. And since we are living under the abounding grace of God, let us abound in every good work. (Colossians 3:23-24)
In doing so, beware of idolatry, greed and pride that may come along the way.
